Overview
The department of Politology was established in 1989. In 1991 it was renamed to Politology and Sociology, later – Social Sciences and from 2007, after the establishment of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the department was renamed to the Department of Sociology and Politology. It is one of the LEU departments that disseminates fundamental and instrumental knowledge about the shifting global world and its structural element – the nation of Lithuania through its study programmes, organised conferences and ever increasingly published monographs and scientific articles.
The department currently has 584 Undergraduate and 34 Master students. It cooperates with these institutions: KATHO University (Belgium), University of Vigo (Spain), Wroclaw University (Poland) and others.
Offered study prorgammes
Undergraduate: Political Sociology. Full-time (4 years) and part-time (5.5 years) studies, 240 ECTS credits.
Master studies: Education Sociology. Full-time (2 years) and part-time (3 years) studies, 120 ECTS credits.
